So far, the mainstream price of domestic ultra-high power 400mm electrodes is around 18,000 yuan/ton, the price of high-power 400mm graphite electrodes is 16500-17,000 yuan/ton, and the price of ordinary power 400mm electrodes is 14000-15000 yuan/ton. Around, some manufacturers are currently quoting higher than this range due to lack of stock.
In the near future, downstream companies are still enthusiastic about electrode purchases, but due to the rapid increase in electrode prices and excessive market instability, some manufacturers have postponed their purchase plans. At present, some large factories have little intention to increase production in order to maintain the current market structure, and the current high raw material prices are under pressure for production expansion. The short-term market may continue the current supply and demand pattern.
Petroleum coke prices in the raw material market are currently at a high level, and some refineries' quotations are still rising slightly. Affected by the high purchase enthusiasm of downstream carbon companies and the reduction in the supply of low-sulfur coke for maintenance and repair of individual refineries, the price of petroleum coke remains strong; the coal pitch market is also strong. In operation, downstream companies are actively receiving goods, and manufacturers' quotations remain high. The raw material market is functioning well, and the price of electrodes will continue to rise in the short term.
CBC's view: The short-term electrode market is still likely to go up. The raw material support is strong, the downstream demand is good, and the manufacturers have enough support to raise their quotations, and the market attitude is positive.
